Portrait Of A Blogger | Liebster Award 2016

So I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Augustin Ra from Indie Spirit! First of all thank you because wow, you thought of my blog. That's definitely an honor, haha. For those who don't know what it is: It's an award that is given from bloggers to other bloggers with a set of questions for them to answer in a post.

"Liebster" is a German word that translates into "Dearest" and the earliest case of the award goes back until 2011. Without further ado, here comes the questions and my answers. This way you'll even be able to get to know a bit more about me.

What's the story behind your name?

I like to travel and wander around anywhere really, so I tend to be missing for hours and days or weeks and travel quietly. That's how I came to the name for my blog, Missing Wanderer. It was also inspired by the quote:
Not all who wander are lost.

Who is the most influential person in your life?

The people who have the most influence on me are my mother, my younger sister and my best friend. They keep me on the ground and help me realistically. They often don't even have to say anything to influence me, how I feel about them and what I cherish about them shape my behaviour and actions and how I want to be as a person.

How would you describe your personality?

If I was to describe myself in a few words, I would probably say loyal, introverted, kind, loving and passionate. I am quite bubbly and open if I know you some more or if you caught me on a good day, haha. I'm witty but I'm not always witty. You could say my personality is based on my mood, pretty much. Of course anyone could say different things about me and I'm clearly still uncertain and searching for myself. I'm far from knowing myself completely. But I guess many of us are. And that's okay.

Who is the most influential person you want to meet in person and what do you want to learn from him/her?

Honestly, I don't know. There's so much I must learn and so much I will learn by coincidence so anyone could come around and teach me the greatest lesson ever.

If you had to live your life all over again, what part of your life would you change?

This sounds incredibly cliché but to be frank, I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the horrible and upsetting things I've been through because I know in my heart that if I wouldn't have experienced life as I have, I wouldn't be this person I am today. I would be totally different. I would have other views on life. I would have other perspectives, maybe whole different opinions. And I don't think I would like that. Heck, life's been a lesson.

What is your edge from other bloggers?

I think there are quite a few similarities that all bloggers have, that's why I enjoy reading blogs of mindedlike bloggers so much.
We all may have similar designs, similar series, similar blog posts with the same old topics but we still write about things that we are passionate about as individuals and what we make of it makes us different from each other. What distuingishes me from other bloggers? Honestly, I don't know anything else than the fact that I'm me and not other bloggers and have my own things that I'm passionate about, as well as others. Maybe you could help me with this, readers?

What is the most important lesson your mother has taught you?

  • Be forgiving but don't forget.
  • Don't fall in the same pit over and over just because you hope for something to change that clearly won't.
  • There's always something to fight for. Sticks and stones may break your bones but in the end it's worth it.
  • "NOOOOO, don't put that in the washing machine, are you insane?"

What is your favourite body part?

On me or on others? In general I would say hands. You can hold them, they keep yours warm and they're pretty.

How will you make a difference in this world?

By living consciously, by spreading positivity, by believing in peaceful interactions.

If we were together right now what would you tell me?

Excuse me, I will answer this generally rather than just to one specific person. You matter. Don't you ever forget that.

If I were in your doorstep right now, where would you take me and why?

I'd offer you a seat and a cup of the good ol' tea. Other than that I'd take you for a walk until we'd reach Neustadt (="New town" with old buildings, bars, shops and randoms in Dresden) because it's my favourite place in this town.
I know it's not really the point of this award but I do want to nominate: all of you, my readers. Anyone who would want to answer these questions:
1. What would you tell your 15 year old self?
2. Who would you take on a trip around the world?
3. What is your favourite book and why?
4. What do you appreciate most about a blog you're reading?
5. Who are you in three words?
Happy answering.

Until then - stay cozy,
