My first month of this year has been fun – but oh, so stressful. I'm still in the midst of exam weeks right now and yes, you caught me, I should be studying right now. But you know, priorities. In this month's letter I just have to tell you about my monthly favourites, solely because this letter would probably be pretty boring if I only wrote about what has been happening.

1. TV Show: Criminal Minds

I'm through with all 11 seasons. Yep, I am. You guys should already know that this show is freaking addicting. And can we just take a moment to appreciate Derek Morgan, Spencer Reid and Aaron Hotchner? They've got to be my personal favourites of all the time. Because, hello? They've crushed my heart. My poor, unstable heart.

If you haven't gotten around to watch this show yet, what the beep are you waiting for? If you're into thriller, crime stories and mostly the psychological side of murders, this show is right for you.

2. K-Drama: Madame Antoine

This has only come out and there are only three episodes out so far but I am enjoying this show much more than I should. Maybe because I'm hopelessly crushing on cute and one of the most natural actors, Sung Joon, and maybe because I see much potential in this drama.

It's hilarious so far and I do love the main female lead – and if you catch me say this then you must know that I don't usually say this about K-Dramas because I feel like most of the female characters are too naive for my taste.

So Han Ye-Seul is doing a great job as a successful fortune-teller who makes her living seeing through people due to her keen sense. She's the protagonist who is confident, has had a hurtful past but dreams of the ultimate love story.

Her chemistry with Sung Joon is through the roof and everything properly sets off when he enters her life as a psychotherapist who thinks a little bit too rationally. Trying to prove his goal that love does not exist and is mere a crazy illusion created by hormones, he makes her take part in his psychological test.

If I have sparked your interest now, I should probably recommend waiting until the episodes are out completely.

3. K-Drama: Hyde, Jekyll, Me

I'm fairly late on this train but hey, better late than never. And I am not regretting watching this show! Needless to say, the concept of dissociative personality disorder thrown in a love triangle sounds amazing as it is but the acting, especially the chemistry, were phenomenal. And Hyun Bin. Enough said. I have been waiting for his huge comeback ever since Secret Garden was over.

It's not just about the wicked love story between an ambitious circus employee and a at-times-coldhearted and at-other-times-lovable director though, a little bit of crime and mystery is always a great accessory. And no worries, this show is completed.

4. Book: TITLE – An anthology on bad verses

Enough about the shows, I've been reading a lot this month, too! Especially on Wattpad, though there are lots of books that I'm currently reading and loving that are not completed yet. This makes me question why I do this to myself.

But there's one book that I find to be so simply beautiful just because of the raw expressions. It's not a typical story or any fiction book, it's more of poetry. Click here to read it.

5. Product: The Body Shop's Japanese Cherry Blossom

I got myself the Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance mist and the shower gel. I love the sweet scent of this. It's fresh and it's not too intense on the nose.

6. App: Moleskine Timepage

This app is a life-changer. Maybe not literally and maybe I'm exaggerating only a little bit but this has got to be the best calendar app I've ever used. The design alone is already stunning, though it's as perfect and as functional as the paper Moleskine calendars that I keep buying myself!

This has to be it for the favourites of this month. I am currently trying out a 28 days Tea Tox product so stay tuned for that also! What have you guys been loving this month? Hope you have a wonderful February ahead.

This is an addition to my finished Short Story, To Ethan, which I published on Wattpad. For I still cannot put my pen nor my thoughts away due to my undying love for Ethan and Aubrey's story that will remain with me forever – and I hope you feel the same way.
*
One day this boy will live, under the trees and neatly built houses, in rose gardens and dusty playgrounds, looking towards the sky with bright smiles and hopeful glances.
One day this boy will have dreams, filled with happily ever afters, happy endings, inspired by the fairytales that he thought were real. He will find passion in hockey or football or swimming and he will get assignments in English class and he will learn to express himself.
One day this boy will experience the bad sides of life, the compelling proclamations, the pulling borders, the scary faces of unforgiveness and deadly habits. He will be glad he had decided to do the assignment back then because at times like those, he had nothing else left than expressing himself.
One day this boy will die, not the way that everybody dies eventually but he will die internally, mentally, his energy completely drained from what remains of him that is only a body. Anatomy that means nothing. Anatomy that makes it possible for the human body to function for life – but what does that all matter when the death comes from the inside and the brain is perfectly fine but the mind is out of control?
One day this boy will know a division that has got nothing to do with mathematics. One day this boy will meet people he will detest and other people who he will feel much love for. But the emptiness stays, it lingers and drains every inch of his aching body, a study that many try to understand.
One day this boy will have to tell his loved ones that it is not their fault. It's not their fault that he's feeling as if everything and everyone leaves him eventually, just when he thinks something's going to stay with him. It's not their fault he doesn't feel worthy of good things in life, either because he sees himself as a lingering shadow that is ready to leave the surface of this world or because he came to believe that good things are illusions, just like happiness and forgiveness and smiles.
One day this boy will learn about the power of illusions and that some illusions are more than just imaginative pictures created in his mind to trick him, one day this boy will fight for the ability to tell demons and tricks from raw truth.
One day this boy will turn his back on every single attempt that he'd failed to escape the bitter world.
One day this boy will learn to live in a bitter world with a little less bitter attitude and a little less helplessness.

Do you ever feel so jealous of other people who are having the time of their life travelling around? Do you ever feel like the wanderlust you're feeling is literally weighing down on you and pulling on you at the same time that you get so frustrated because, well, you don't have the time, opportunity or the money to leave for an unforgettable trip out there? I have this feeling every so often and it makes me so sad but also so excited for those times to come.

And it's not even the big, impressive things that are every so often showed on the TV or sung about in the pop songs. It's the artsy coffee shops, the sunsets that are mirrored on the surface of the sea, the wide and long roads in seemingly endless landscapes, the train rails and the city buildings sticking out of the ground from afar.

Sigh. I so want to be somewhere else right now, just breathing in different air, learning about other places, discovering their little pretty secret places.

I can't be the one longing for much, much, much more traveling adventures.

One of my top 3 resolutions for this year is to be more adventurous. Now that I've moved away and am constantly being exposed to new stuff, I find it very exciting. I've been hiding at home for too long. I want to get out there, see things. And to be honest, to be more adventurous doesn't mean stepping out too far and investing much money. There are a few very simple steps. Here they are.

Try new activities.

A small step into something new can be huge life changer. Don't stay in your own routine, switch things up a bit. Maybe you've never been climbing. Maybe you haven't hiked in a while. Don't be shy of new things!

Try new foods.

There's so many delicious meals out there waiting for you. If you're a foodie, you might be doing this already. If not, you should go looking for a new favourite meal!

Go somewhere every weekend.

Be a tourist in your own town. Get in the car and drive somewhere new, get on the train and let it take you to new places. You don't need to go to a whole other country to discover something new.

Spend more time outside.

Don't dwell inside for so long. I know, it's tempting to stay in bed and watch TV shows all the time. I know how tempting it is, I am guilty of this myself! But make it a duty to spend time outside for a few hours in a week. Doesn't matter if you'll do it on your own or go out with friends. Staying home all day can make you feel lonely and disconnected.

Learn a new skill / language.

Try painting or writing, learn how to play the piano, learn how to cook and bake! I'm currently learning Korean just because I want to understand a few more words than the ones that stuck with me while listening to EXO and watching the famous sappy K-Dramas. There's so much you can learn and try out. And I'm sure it won't hurt you.

Reading is great. I mean, all those different worlds that you dissolve in by reading page for page can be not only fascinating but inspirational! If you're not the type for fiction, maybe try non-fictional books, biographies, geographic and tourism based books.

Book a last-minute trip somewhere.

Once in a while you can definitely do this. If you have the opportunity, grab it. Why not? Adventure awaits you everywhere!

Go on trips with your friends.

Going out and watching movies with friends is one thing. Going on a trip with them is a whole other level. It's so much more intense and one trip can change how you view each other personally. Going on an adventure with friends is always fun. And fun that is shared is the best fun, as you know.

Take lots of pictures.

Take pictures. Of everything and everyone. You and your friends will be grateful you did. There are many memories that aren't captured anywhere and it's a pity most of the time. Memories will stay sharper if you have pictures of them.

Learn about other cultures.

To be narrow-minded isn't being ignorant but you could learn so much about other cultures, discover and understand the world with such small steps.

Try something outside of your comfort zone.

"Your comfort zone is this small and everything you want is out there."

Meet new people.

Of course you can settle for the bestest friends that you already have. But I found that meeting new people means new stories and new wisdom. You learn a lot through people, too. Especially at 3 A.M. in the morning, with a drink at the bar in the midst of deep conversations. You don't even have to meet them ever again.

Break old traditions.

Binge watching TV shows until the sun sets? Going eating at the same place every week? What about completely breaking old traditions and replacing them with new ones? Or no traditions at all? Small changes can be big in the end of the day.

How do you like your adventures? Are you going on adventures this year?

I started drinking fruit smoothies every day ever since my mother bought me a mixer for my first own apartment. I usually mix a drink in the morning, drink one half with breakfast and the other half in the evening before getting ready for bed.

What do you need?

Of course you can take whatever ingredients you'd like but this is basically what I always mix together. The tall bottle is for mixing the drink, the smaller bottle is for containing the other half of the drink that I'd put in the fridge until I'd drink it up in the evening. Be careful with whatever fruit you put in the mixer and read the duration and strength of the mixer beforehand.

I usually start with the fruit on bottom because the yoghurt tends to stick at the bottom and it gets harder to mix it that way. I always make sure to cut the fruit in small pieces so it's easier for the mixer. And there you have it. A very delicious, energizing morning drink.

By the way, drinking a whole glass of the drink in the morning helps me feel full. Sometimes I can even go without breakfast with just that drink. Which is not the best thing, though, you need to have a  full, good breakfast every day! But this is just a tip for those who were looking for another way to help get fitter or lose weight. It worked for me at least.

Getting fitter is one of my resolutions from now on and I'm trying to stick with it. What do you eat or drink to stay fit and healthy? What does your favourite smoothie consist of? Let me know in the comments!

Although this winter doesn't really look like winter this year, I've been somewhat enjoying the perks of the coziness this year around. To be honest, that is what I cherish most about the winter time. This 8Tracks mixtape has been up for a while already, though I finally get around to actually posting about it. It consists of some really awesome songs that get me in the winter mood every day.

What are your favourite winter songs? Do you consider yourself a winter person? Or are you secretly impatiently waiting for spring to come around? Happy January, everybody!
